What is REAP Upward Movement?

A second chance to secure your dream college or branch — automatically processed by the system.

REAP Upward Movement is a special round conducted by the Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process after the initial seat allotment rounds. During this round, students who have already reported to an allotted college and opted for upgradation can potentially receive a better seat — a higher-ranked college or a more preferred branch — based on vacancies created by candidates who did not report within the deadline.

The system automatically processes upgradation based on your original merit rank and the order of choices you submitted during choice-filling. You do not need to fill choices again. Your original preferences are used as-is to determine if a higher seat is available for you.

🌟

Automatic Processing

No manual application needed. The system evaluates your higher preferences against available vacant seats automatically based on merit.

🔒

Seat Security

If no upgrade is available, your current allotted seat remains safe and confirmed. It will not be cancelled under any circumstance.

📋

Original Choices Used

Your choice list from the original choice-filling round is used. Higher preferences are checked in exact order of your preference number.

Strict Deadlines

If upgraded, reporting to the new college within the given deadline is mandatory. Missing it cancels your entire admission.

Eligibility for Upward Movement

Not all candidates are automatically eligible. Verify your status before the round begins.

Criterion Details Status
Reported to allotted college Candidate must have physically reported and completed document verification at the initially allotted institute within the reporting window. Required
Opted for upward movement During reporting, the candidate must have selected the option to participate in upward movement. This is done at the college level and cannot be changed afterwards. Required
Higher preferences exist The candidate must have at least one higher-preference choice during original choice filling that has not yet been allotted to them. Conditional
Valid merit rank Your rank must fall within the cutoff for the upgraded seat (college + branch + category) to be considered for upgradation. Merit-Based
Seat not frozen Candidates who chose to "freeze" their seat during reporting are permanently excluded from all upward movement rounds. Disqualified

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about REAP Upward Movement 2026.

No. If you chose to "freeze" your seat at the time of reporting, you are permanently ineligible for any upward movement round. Only candidates who explicitly opted for "upgradation / upward movement" during their initial reporting are considered.

No, you do not need to fill choices again. The system uses your original choice list submitted during the choice-filling phase. It checks if any of your higher preferences (choices ranked above your currently allotted seat) have become available due to vacancies.

If your seat is not upgraded, no action is needed. Your previously allotted seat remains confirmed and finalized. You continue your admission at the same college without any penalty or risk to your existing seat.

Yes. Upward movement in REAP applies to all types of participating institutes — government, government-aided, and private colleges listed under REAP counselling. It covers all branches and all seat categories including General, OBC, SC, ST, and TFWS.

REAP typically conducts 2 to 3 upward movement rounds depending on seat availability and the overall counselling timeline. Each round results in a new allotment letter and a fresh reporting window. Candidates must report after each round if they receive an upgrade.
